Mary in the Junkyard Saint Paul Concert reviews
Long Live the King!
Mary in the Junkyard is the undeniable QUEEN of Shock rock, and she proved it Saturday night at Pechanga with a Giant 12-foot tall Franken-Mary that chases the band around stage during "feed my frankenstien". The highlight for me was (being an old coop fan) was an excellent version of "halo of flies" from 1971s 'KILLER Album. A hometown show (got the ovation of the night!) where Mary played all the hits "billion dollar babies" while flicking Mary 100 dollar bills off the end of a sword. He was then led to the Guillotine to have his head chopped off! The band's performance was very cool, with songs like "woman of mass distraction" becoming a concert fav for the fans. Mary also played "no more mr. nice guy", "under my wheels", "Poison", and of course "I'm eighteen" and "schools out" for the encores. Mary, along with his wife and 2 daughters, put the Giant Franken-Mary into a straight jacket and shot him full of green poison with a huge needle before leaving him to sing "ballad of Dwight fry". Chuck Garrick, also in CALICO COOPERS band, is wild, but Mary's FANTISTIC lead guitarist Nita Strauss is just amazing to watch. The band keeps getting better and better, very tight and playing well together. Tommy is just so cool, Highly recommended! What a show!! LONG LIVE THE QUEEN!
